Horaay! Goodsheds in Barry is open!
The urban High Street on Hood Road in Barry, South Wales is made up of a series of shipping containers as well as using the old goods shed buildings, previously known as Gwalia Buildings.
We visited on Wednesday night for a taste of Tokyo Nights (amazing gyozas!) Mr Croquewich and Barry Island Gin from Craft Republic. It's best to book a table, for 4 people our table was £5 and it was outside so wrap up warm! You can also find a walk in table if there are spaces available, or use the takeaway point outside the building to order food.
Upstairs on the first floor there are some brilliant shops including Box Edit Boutique (clothes), Spectrum Collections (make up and brushes) and Banter Cards (cards and gifts). There is also a hairdresser, VHS Barry and more to come including a workshop space. On the second floor there are office spaces for other local businesses.
The site is still being developed with the train carriages including a butchers, cinema, florist and a separate train full of independent makers and creators set to open later this year.
Parking is available across the road behind Academy at the BSC2 building and the containers are accessible, with lift access to each floor.
If you’re planning a trip check each retailer for individual opening times on their website!
